Did you know Clacton-on-Sea is celebrating its 150th anniversary this year?

We’re proud to be a Clacton based fish and chip shop and we’re excited to welcome the celebrations of this huge milestone for the town.

Today, Clacton is the largest town in the Tendring peninsula and district in Essex. It was officially founded in 1871, when a group of businessmen built the historic pier and the Royal Hotel. Over the years Clacton has transformed into a go-to place for holidaymakers.

The Fish Inn has been a central point in the town for many years and this special occasion is the perfect time to celebrate all that our town has achieved over the last century and a half.

We may be biased, but we couldn’t imagine having our shop anywhere else!

The 150th anniversary event is set to be commemorated with a heritage trail complete with history boards, listening benches and challenges. As you may already know, there will also soon be an official anniversary ferris wheel installed that is 30-meters high and set to open on April 12th.

To really experience the best that Clacton has to offer, make sure to pop in for some of our fish and chips after you have enjoyed the fantastic views of the seafront from the wheel.

We can’t wait to celebrate the occasion with you!

From Lucas and The Fish Inn team.
